Digital India week program organised by SPARC Private Limited.

On the occasion of Digital India Week, an awareness program on Digital India was conducted by SPARC (Spatial Planning & Analysis Research Centre) Private Limited at their office at Infocity, Bhubaneswar, on 3rd Jul 2015.

Dr. Sandeep Tripathi, Chief Executive, Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC), the apex body of the State of Odisha for space technology applications, graced the function as the Chief Guest. Dr. Bijoy Kumar Sahoo, Chairman, SAI International School was the Guest of Honour for the event. Delegates from the IT industry, school children and their teachers attended the function.

An exhibition on ‘GIS in e-Governance’ and a digital quiz competition for children titled ‘I know my Odisha’ was organised in SPARC (on the 3rd of July 2015 on the occasion of Digital India Week.

The exhibition showcased solutions and products delivered by SPARC on how GIS (Geographic Information System) is being used a potential Development Planning tool.

The quiz program, which was based on digital maps tested the students’ knowledge on the district boundaries, national highways, natural resources, etc of Odisha, was both an enjoyable experience and a learning platform for the participating school children.

The Chief Speaker, Shri Rudra Shankar Shathpathy MD and CEO, IN2IT Technologies, Bhubaneswar, delivered a talk on ‘Cyber Security and e-Hygiene’. He highlighted the precautionary measures that should be adopted, especially by school children, to be safe from cyber frauds and crimes,

Shri. Subhadarshi Mishra, MD, SPARC, emphasized the importance of ‘GIS in Governance’ and explained how GIS, which used maps as a visualization dimension, could be effectively used as a DSS (Decision Support System) in planning and monitoring, for various domains -mining, industrial establishments, forests, water resources, transport and logistics, e-governance, etc.

Confederation of Information Technology Enterprises (CITE) hosted a dinner program at Bhubaneswar Golf Club, Infocity Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on 16th July, 2015 (Thursday) for its EC family members along with Director General, STPI Dr. Omkar Rai & Family.

The dinner program was also attended by Shri Manas Ranjan Panda, Director, STPI along with his officials.

Press release of Digital India week program organised by SAI International School, Bhubaneswar.

With the launching of “Digital India Week” by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, on July 1, 2015, SAI International School observed the same on 6th July , 2015. Digital India, a flagship program by the government of India, aims to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

The program was commenced by the Principal of the school, enlightening the students with some of the basic ideas on the topic and introducing the chief guests, Shri. Subhadarshi Mishra, Managing Director, SPARC, Shri. Manas Ranjan Panda, Director, STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) and the guests of honor, Mr. Anil Mallick, Executive Director and COO at TCube Solutions.

Making the students aware about the motive of ‘Digital India’, Shri. Subhadarshi Mishra said, “This program aims at keeping the people all over the country, connected and well informed. Making the people digitally and technologically sound, can remove the wide disparity between the informed and the uninformed, so that eventually we can have a balanced society.” He even informed the students about the various government policies like, e-Kranti, National Scholarship Portal, Net Zero Import and the mygov portal. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Bijoy Kumar Sahoo, Chairman, Sai International School signified the importance of being e-literate in today’s world, citing some remarkable real life incidents.

Interacting with the students and answering to all their queries, Shri. Manas Panda, said, “In order to bring a large investment in the technology segment, we need a digitally empowered society. With the prelude of Digital India, good governance can be offered to the citizens, there will be job opportunities for the youth of our country and most importantly it will focus on the empowerment of individual citizens”. He further added, “Universal access to mobile phones, smart city projects and various citizen centric services are some of the major perks of this scheme.“


An interactive Session with Dr. Sam Pitroda, dated 27th Jan 2016 :

Dr Sam Pitroda, has been appointed the Technology Advisor to Govt. of Odisha, an internationally respected telecom inventor, entrepreneur, development thinker, and policy maker in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

He has spent 50 years in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). He is credited with having laid the foundation for India’s telecommunications and technology revolution.

On 27th January (Wednesday) he interacted with various IT Industries of Odisha, at Hotel “The Crown” IRC Village, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.

Shri Pranab Prakash Das, Hon’ble Minister for IT along with Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS, Principal Secretary (IT) also attended the meet which was followed by networking dinner.

Press release of STPI Award Function 2016 organised with INFOCOM :

The Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Odisha along with INFOCOM, India’s leading Business Technology-Leadership Conference and The Telegraph, East India No.1 Newspaper organized the “Advantage Odisha 2016” the leading Business, Technology and Leadership Conference in the Capital and Temple city of Odisha - Bhubaneswar. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik.

Software Technology Parks of India had organized the STPI Export Awards function at Infocom Odisha 2016, on 26th of February 2016 at Hotel “The Crown”. The STPI Exports were presented as recognition of contribution made by the IT Industries in terms of exports, employment generation, innovation and boosting overall economy and prosperity of the State of Odisha.
